Dual-Step Process for LMIA-Based Work Permits
Obtaining an LMIA-based work permit involves a two-step process:
Step 1 – LMIA Application:
The initial step requires the Canadian employer to apply for an LMIA from Service Canada. Prior to this, the employer must ensure that they do not favor foreign nationals over Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are qualified for the job.
